Globecomm Acquires Carrier2Carrier and Evocomm

Fleet Broadband Services

In March 2010, Globecomm acquired Carrier to Carrier BV (C2C), and the assets of sister company Evolution Communications Ltd. (Evocomm). From its teleport in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands, C2C provides satellite services across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia. The company also serves ships at sea in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Gulf of Mexico and Indian Ocean. Evocomm is based in South Africa and provides Inmarsat land-based BGAN and maritime Fleet Broadband Services. The combined companies had $19.5 million in sales in the year prior to the acquisition.

C2C is the second company that Globecomm has acquired in the Netherlands, following the 2009 acquisition of Mach6 , and its third acquisition in maritime satellite services. The C2C/Evocomm purchase extends Globecomm’s reach in the Mediterranean, African and Indian Ocean regions, where emerging nations are increasingly becoming integrated into the global economy.
